Do marketing hacks work?

How often do you hear about marketing hacks promising to “10X” this or that?

Sorry to break it to you, but it’s total BS.

What’s true?

What’s fast and easy will leave you the same way.

I know, total buzz kill.

Even though it might seem like it, all those super successful people you see in your Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds didn’t get there overnight. A lot of them were there before it was popular and had time to figure out what really worked for them.

Big, long-term success takes time.

So what can you do now?

First, set a goal.

What do you really want from your marketing efforts? Awareness? Engagement? Leads? Sales? Maybe it’s one or the other. Maybe it’s one before the other? Either way, dialing in what will help YOUR BUSINESS be the most successful where it is in THIS MOMENT, will give you the most immediate success to build on.

Second, Make a plan.

Based on your goals, find an expert or someone who has successfully done what you’re looking to do and make the investment of time or money to talk to them. If you’re lucky enough to have found a mentor who aligns with your personal and business goals, by all means see what they have to say.

Third, take a step back.

Before you go chasing squirrels and fleshing out the first thing you landed on, take time to process and make sure it’s true to your original goal. Sometimes when we get excited about an idea, we want to see action! Just make sure you’re spending your resources on a plan that supports your goals in the right ways.

You’ve got this.
